TUINA |
Tuina is a kind of hand-on manipulations on meridians and points to treat the disharmonies.
Tuina is rooted in China dated back to around 2700 BC. Tuina (or therapeutic massage) is based on the traditional Chinese medical theory: Yin & Yang, Five Elements, Qi Blood Essence Fluid, Eight Principles, Internal Organs, Pathogenic Factors and the Meridian theory.
There are several techniques applied to meridian and point to eliminate the discomfort or illnesses: Rolling, One-finger pressing, Kneading, Round Rubbing, Grasping, Rub Rolling, Scrubbing, Pressing, Suppressing, Pushing, Wiping, Chopping, Vibrating, Shaking, Rotating, Pulling Stretching, Revolving, Squeezing tweaking, Holding Twisting, etc.
Practitioner needs to master the basic theories of traditional Chinese medical theory. Based on the theory, the practitioner will make a traditional Chinese medical diagnose. According to the diagnosis, the practitioner will employ the different kind of Tuina technique to combat the disharmonies.
After Tuina treatment, in most of the cases, patients will experience certain degree of instant improvement. In some cases which have underline pathogenic changes such as adheision, patients may experience temporarily aggravation of the symptoms, as the treatment progress, the symptoms should be slowly decreasing.
